Gong Xi Fa Cai and Kung Ho Fat Choy! As we welcome in a new calendar and new lunar year, it is an exciting time to be in Asia Pacific. Capital markets in our region are set for rapid growth in the next decade, and according to our recent APAC Distribution 360 study, Asia Pacific has become a significant engine for global fund sales growth. This doesn’t mean that the challenges you face won’t be challenging. Our survey at last year’s Singapore Fintech Festival highlighted that regulatory change and changing internal mindsets remain the biggest challenges for financial institutions in the region.

In this quarter’s newsletter you’ll find content to support you with these trends, as well as some additional insights that we hope you find useful. As always, we welcome your feedback on how else we can help you capitalise on the opportunities that are ahead.

Navigating Regulatory Change in Asia Pacific

As markets continue to evolve one thing is certain: regulatory change will continue to impact how firms do business and interact with clients and stakeholders. In our latest report with Kapronasia we take a look at the effect of local and extraterritorial regulation across Asia Pacific, provide strategic foresight to embrace the changing landscape and get ready for what comes next.

Additionally, for firms who manage operations in Europe, Broadridge’s David Farmery explores how Securities Finance Transaction Reporting (SFTR) and Brexit threaten to expose reporting shortfalls as regulatory obligations grow. Read the article here.

Leveraging Next Generation Analytics

Following the announcement in November 2018 of our global partnership with Tableau, Broadridge brings investment management clients the latest in enhanced analytics and visualisation capabilities. In March we’ll be in Hong Kong and Singapore to showcase the benefits of tailored, easy to use dashboards backed by automated data cleansing, re-formatting and report distribution. Simplifying Insurance Operations Through Reconciliation Automation

AIA Malaysia were looking for a solution that would fully automate daily reconciliations of bank statements against their global ledger, and fast-track identified exceptions whilst prioritising aging items, as well as expired or unpresented cheques. Find out how they streamlined operations, reduced reputational risk and made cost efficiencies in our latest case study.

Innovations in Artificial Intelligence

Mike Alexander, Broadridge’s President of North America Wealth and Capital Markets, speaks with Traders Magazine in a series of short videos (under 2 minutes) about how AI will assist traders in the future, what new developments to expect in the next 12-18 months and what limitations we are currently seeing.

Distribution Dialogues Asia

In January, we launched our inaugural Distribution Dialogue Asia events in Hong Kong and Singapore. Our experts discussed APAC’s addressable retail and institutional opportunities, as well as the future of our Global Market Intelligence platform with a showcase of our new solutions aimed at the Asian and European markets.
