Canada Post Corporation Update
Service Disruption

The Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) has issued a notice to strike to Canada Post Corporation (“CPC").  There could be a legal job action starting Monday, October 22, 2018.

Broadridge has contingency practices in place. If CUPW members do strike, Broadridge will continue to produce, insert and stage mail for distribution on the normal production cycles.  In the event there is a total work stoppage, CPC may not allow any client to induct mail into their system. Mail will be labeled and stored to facilitate First in First out (FIFO) delivery.

Following the total work stoppage, if any, Broadridge will induct the mail to CPC on the same FIFO basis. It should be noted that under the Canada Post Corporations Act, only CPC can deliver First Class (Lettermail) mail. Broadridge is restricted in the use of other first class mail providers.

Broadridge will continue to monitor this situation closely.  If you have any questions or comments, please contact your Broadridge client service representative directly.

Public information is provided and updated on the CPC website.
