The purpose of the AIF® designation is to assure that those responsible for managing or advising on investor assets have a fundamental understanding of the principles of fiduciary duty, the standards of conduct for acting as a fiduciary, and a process for carrying out fiduciary responsibility.

Fi360 is accredited by the ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB) for the AIF® designation, making the designation part of an elite group of accredited designations in financial services.

For Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®), Accredited Investment Fiduciary Analyst® (AIFA®), or Professional Plan Consultant® (PPC®) designation eligibility requirements, please refer to this article.

To reinstate an expired AIF®, AIFA®, or PPC® designation, please refer to the designation reinstatement requirements.

Yes. Advisors can access compliant digital badges, logos, and templates through the Designee Portal to market their designation.

In order to become an AIF® designee, candidates must complete the following requirements:

1. Enroll in and complete AIF® designation training that satisfies AIF® designation training requirements

2. Pass the AIF® examination

3. Meet the experience requirement (prerequisites)

4. Satisfy the Code of Ethics and Conduct Standards

5. Submit the application and dues

Yes. Out of the hundreds of designations listed on the FINRA Professional Designations Database, only a few are independently accredited. That means individuals in all 50 U.S. states and globally can leverage their AIF® designation.
