A decade ago it would have been impossible to imagine that a large percentage of consumers would trust a large amount of their assets to software-managed money. Today, the bar has been driven so high by companies like Apple and Amazon that consumers have gone from tech acceptance to tech dependent. 

Steve notes a pendulum swing from “inside-out” to “outside-in” where consumers expect firms to not only have personal data, but to also transform it into something that is beneficial to them.
