Wealth InFocus reimagines regulatory and transactional communications for an omni-channel world.

Extensive research has led to a new investor experience — one designed from an investor perspective. Today, Wealth InFocus transforms digital and print communications to increase investor engagement with a simpler, intuitive, and actionable experience — one that enhances investor relationships with their advisors and the firm.

Wealth InFocus puts the most important investor information upfront, making it easier for them to digest and understand account details in their preferred channel.

Let’s start with the printed statement…ideal for investors who have not yet opted for digital delivery.

We’ve redesigned the print statement with a digital-first lens. This creates a more valuable communication for investors, while reducing costs for the firm.

On the first page, you see:

The Ameriprise logo

A clear zone for the investor’s mailing address.

Plus, a prominently placed personalized message from the advisor, which helps strengthen relationships, boost retention and increase assets under management.

From there, we go into a Performance Section… followed by Asset Allocation. The primary reason investors review their statements is to find out how they’re doing against their financial goals.

In the bottom righthand corner of the first page, we feature a QR code with messaging that encourages investors to access their digital statement — an interactive experience that delivers even greater insight.

Enabling digital communications for paper-based investors helps them become comfortable with digital, while reducing their reliance on paper.

This statement continues with required information, such as Transaction Activity—and Account Holdings.

We then follow up by summarizing other information that investors historically received as standalone communication, such as:

Upcoming Events, which remind investors to attend annual meetings, vote their proxy, or review corporate actions and other shareholder information

Plus, a Documents module, which provides access to all investor communications and regulatory documents, such as prospectuses, tailored shareholder reports, and more

And finally, the statement ends with a single page of disclosures – the minimum amount needed in print to meet regulatory requirements. All statements are printed in our innovative, award-winning facilities.

Now let’s go back to that QR code printed on the statement to demonstrate the investor’s digital experience.

Before investors can access full account details online, we link them to a page where they need to confirm their identity using a one-time passcode for security authentication.

The passcode can be sent to an email address on file, texted to a mobile device, or sent as a voice message to a phone number on file.

Once the investor is authenticated, they land on the interactive microsite: A digital experience that details the information your investors care about most.

Investors can then drill down into account holdings and transaction activity.

They can click on direct links to documents that investors have been notified about in the print and email experience. They may also choose to download the statement or link into the Ameriprise investor portal. Advisors can also access the same documents in your advisor portal.

There are also modules that correlate data and link to actionable items such as proxy voting, corporate actions, or adding shareholder meetings to your calendar.

For example, investors can vote their proxies through a seamless integration with our proxy voting platform.

Investors can also access their regulatory documents, such as Tailored Shareholder Reports.

The integration of transaction and regulatory documents creates a seamless experience for investors. Now, they can quickly and easily take action – all in one place.

There is even advertising space for promotions and educational materials. For example, you could remind investors of the tools available in the investor portal, or encourage anyone still receiving printed statements to sign up for paperless delivery.

Now let’s look at the experience for an investor who already has access to their digital communications.

Traditionally, the ‘statement-is-ready-notification’ is one of the weakest communications from a firm. We’ve brought more value to this communication by using an enhanced email.

A personalized module from the advisor, much like you saw in the print experience, offers a snapshot of performance – without revealing specific balances. There’s also links to documents, upcoming events and other activities.

Just like with the microsite, investors can access full account details once they confirm their identity using one-time passcode security authentications.

Once the investor is authenticated, they land on the interactive microsite. This investor digital experience – much like we saw before – provides details around Performance… Account Holdings… and Transaction Activity.

Investors have the option to download the statement or link into the Ameriprise investor portal.
