Business Continuance Solutions
In preparation for possible business technology failures due to uncontrollable events, Broadridge's SIS has developed a Business Continuance Services (BCS) package that provides our firms near real-time business recovery. Available on a subscription basis, BCS addresses the need to recover core central processing facilities, databases, and networks rapidly and with a high degree of system integrity.
BCS Features
Hot Site Facility
- Broadridge has leased permanent space within the IBM Business Recovery Services (BRS) facility located northeast of Boulder, Colorado. This facility is close enough to Broadridge's SIS facility to allow economical fiber-based data communications, but far enough to make a common disaster unlikely.
- The facility is a fully conditioned space with backup power and multiple communication paths which will permanently house required hardware and data files.
Data Replication
- All critical data required in daily operations is replicated in near real-time to the BCS Hot Site. Data latency is measured in seconds, so loss of data in the event of a disaster should be minimal.
- A large fiber communication pipeline has been established between Broadridge/SIS (Wheat Ridge) and the BCS Hot Site (Boulder). Redundant paths and queuing facilities guard against lost data.
Powerful Backup
An Un-Interruptible Power Supply (UPS) system and on-site electric generators provide backup in the case of a Data Center power failure. The dual UPS systems ensure that power failure of up to 30 minutes does not bring down our systems, and if the system is down longer than 30 minutes, the diesel generators kick in.
